Here's what's interesting though (contradicting your claim here): in studies where people KNEW they were being prayed for, they actually fared WORSE than those who weren't told prayers were coming their way - possibly because they assumed they must be in REALLY bad shape if it were deemed prayers were in necessary to help them. Now, I know I read this but can't think where off the top of my head - possibly The God Delusion (R.
