Freestyle Artist Music Promotions formed in the 1990's when the internet was a million miles away from home, there were no mobile phones, just pen, ink and paper... It was the time when word of mouth and lithographic printed flyers was the only way forward and artificial flavourings made potato chips taste like it said on the pack...
Inspired by the legends and wanting to be them on stage our school crew planned and organised a gig at the Red Cross hall, the Year was 1994. The only equipment we had were speakers, an amplifier, a cassette deck, a basic CD player and a microphone. The night was jam packed, people loved our styles and we knew this was the making of something BIG.
Nowadays there are i Phones on planet Galaxy, one zillion artists who are simply pure wannabees, too much technology and everyone who sings drunk on Sunfly karaoke thinks that they are legends... Times were tough then and technology has changed dramatically, but it hasnt changed anything for us at FAM, as all the Artists on our lists are dedicated and professional musicians with a passion and love for music only.
People think that being an artist is the easiest thing ever, well it is definately not... It has taken Freestyle Artist Management 19 Years to gain a respectable reputation and we are still learning the industries traits. Just cos you can rap, sing or dance does not mean that you are the next Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys or Ray Charles, it really is about time, effort and professionalism.
Since 1994 Freestyle Artists have played at more than 500 events including big clubs and organisations such as the Reading University 360 club, the Old Firestation in Bournemouth, Raindance, Fat Talent live in Camden Town, The Legendary Boxing Club in Reading, The Broad Street Mall Shopping Complex, Wasing Park Manor in Aldermaston, Trunkwell Manor, the Royal Albert Hall in Nottingham and gigs abroad including Tunisia and Lanzarote.
We have earned our respect in the music scene not only from what we do best but by helping others along the way. We have worked alongside some of the Worlds biggest charities including the Red Cross, Help for Heroes, Voyage Care Services, Headway Trust, Cancer Research UK and the Royal Berkshire Hospital. We have raised well in excess of over £10,000 from perfomances in the U.K and we have big plans to extend that figure.
