The Nine by Freddy Samsonstuen published on 2012-05-03T20:09:19Z This is a short groove/solo/instrumental I recently recorded at home. There are three different basses on this track; the bassline in the first part of the song is played on a Basslab 6 string, while the last part of the song is done on a fretted/fretless 8 string Bassllab. The lead bass/distorted bass in the middle of the song is a Chris Larkin 9 string bass. No 4 string basses where harmed or abused recording this track! Genre Funk/Rock Comment by Freddy Samsonstuen Hi and thanks KM! The Basslab L-Bow is very light for a 6 string as mine weighs about 3.2 kg (ca 7 lbs?). The bass is very easy to handle and the fretwork is the best on any of the basses I've ever owned. Soundwise it is loud acoustically and projects very well. It is very easy to dial in the right sound and if you go for the onboard BassXX preamp you can't really go wrong! 2013-03-20T11:56:53Z Comment by Kid Mohair Hey Freddy. Wicked groove, amigo! Just discovered this via the Basslab page. Really interested in the L-bow 6-string as a replacement for my brilliant but insanely heavy Warwick Thumb 6 NT. Just how light and manageable is your 6? 2013-03-20T10:56:31Z Comment by W.S. Merwin I love the solo, your use of noise, and the James Brown / Jaco Pastorius groove. 2012-10-07T02:45:59Z
