Freddy Mercer Composer for Film & Media Brighton Freddy Mercer is a Brighton-based composer and mix engineer. He specialises in writing music for a diverse range of media, including film, documentary, moving image, commercials, promotional content, and anything else that requires creative audio. His work can be heard internationally, including recent screenings at the Royal College of Art and Shanghai Fashion Week 2017. Freddy recently graduated from the University of Sussex with a First in Music Technology, including composition for film. During this time, he collaborated with live instrumentalists and filmmakers, had his music played by the University of Sussex Orchestra, and performed his own scores live to picture. Aside from writing music, Freddy also researches how music is utilised in advertising. In 2016, he was given the opportunity to present his research at the Music for Audiovisual Media II conference at Leeds University, and has recently been awarded the 'Highly Commended' accolade by the Undergraduate Awards Body for his findings.
