Alten's Bullfight (Alto Saxophone, Viola, and Clarinet) by Frank Nawrot published on 2013-09-01T01:00:46Z This piece is for Alto Saxophone, Clarinet, and Viola. It was inspired by the impressionist painter Mathias Alten and his travels to Spain. While there, he was hoping to find some inspiration in the spectacle of bullfighting. Instead, as the story goes, he was appalled by this violent practice and could not bring himself to recreate the moment. With this piece, I hope to accomplish what Alten was too disgusted to do- create a work of art based on his impression of the bullfight and of the bullfight itself. Recorded and mixed by John C.L.
