A unique band with a blend of musical genres. Conceived in 2010 a group of friends took the living room jam to the streets. With a simple idea, create a musical journey through original tunes and off the wall ideas. Quickly Four 14 became a normal face to see in The Greenville scene, having gained interest through battle of the band competitions, open mics, and house party's.
After competing and winning a battle of the bands in September of 2010 at Greenville, SC premier venue, The Handlebar, Four 14 began resorting to there own full length shows in bars around the Greenville area. As shows progressed themes came into play, such as black lights, Glow Sticks, and even no lights, this sparked a new and different environment for music fans of Greenville, enough so to result in opening act slots at The Handlebar for national and regional touring bands.
In late 2011, Four 14 added drummer Chris Bradley to the mix. The fit and connection was instant. "It was something we needed to do. We knew we where on the brink of playing big shows at The Handlebar. We had been relying on hand percussion for so along. So it opened us up to some new heavier sounds." said, Kyle Rowland. After a short hiatus to prepare music. Four 14 worked its way up opening for the likes of Perpetual Groove (x2), The Movement, Simplified, Devon Allman, and Tim Reynolds of Dave Matthews Band, to name a few. With great success and good ticket sales a relationship was built between Four 14 and The Handlebar. Shortly after the Tim Reynolds show on 4/20/12, Four 14 was given the ok to present there own shows. Teaming up with local Grateful Dead cover band, Milli Fungus. The 2 quickly became the sight to see and the party not to miss. With again, theme idea's for shows and always one super jam at the end of the night, Four 14 has became a handlebar staple and regular trusted show for a good time.
In late 2012, Four 14 embarked on a regional tour playing shows in North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, and various places across South Carolina. The band returned home and quickly began writing new music to present in the year 2013.
While learning from each experience, a humble attitude, and dedication to live music, you will be sure to hear more from this band in the future.
A unique band, with a very open-minded sound and exciting live shows.
