Spotlight On Turkmenistan by The Foreign Policy Centre published on 2019-07-16T11:18:28Z On the 15th of July 2019, the Foreign Policy Centre hosted an event titled 'Spotlight on Turkmenistan' to discuss Turkmenistan, perhaps the least well known or understood of the Central Asian states. The event focused on how the country is being governed and what this means for the rule of law, corruption, the economy and human rights in Turkmenistan, while analysing its relations with neighbours and the international community. Speakers were: Nigel Mills MP, Chair of the APPG on Anti-Corruption, Ruslan Myatiev, Editor and Founder of Turkmen News, Eimear O’Casey, Central Asia Researcher at Control Risks, Dr Luca Anceschi, Senior Lecturer in Central Asian Studies at the University of Glasgow, and Adam Hug, Director of the Foreign Policy Centre. The event was chaired by Baroness Stern, Vice-Chair of the APPG on Human Rights. Genre News & Politics
