Flower Alarm Flower Alarm is a collaborative work by Paola Paleari and Kristina Bengtsson, realised in occasion of the exhibition A certain bloom at Fonderia 20.9 in Verona (Italy), June 21-July 13 2019. Flower Alarm is a digital alarm clock based on the "horologium florae" invented in 1751 by Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus: a garden clock where specific flower species are arranged accordingly to the time of the day when their petals open or close. In the gallery space, the alarm clock is installed on a smartphone, and the 24 ringtones that mark the 24 hours of the day are the botanical names of Linneus' flowers, interpreted by a female opera singer. On this page you can listen to the recordings of the 24 flowers. Flower Alarm is produced by Emailing While Intoxicated. www.paolapaleari.net www.kristinabengtsson.com www.fonderia209.com Flower Alarm’s tracks Epiphyllum oxypetalum, 1 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:23Z Tragopogon pratensis, 2 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:23Z Ipomea indica, 3 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:23Z Cichorium intybus, 4 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:22Z Crepis tectorum, 5 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:22Z Nepeta racemosa, 6 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:21Z Cicerbita alpina, 7 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:21Z Nolana paradoxa, 8 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:21Z Mesembryanthemum crystallinum, 9 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:20Z Hibiscus moscheutos, 10 AM by Flower Alarm published on 2019-06-17T07:59:20Z
