Flipcide Salt Lake City Raised in the south during the rise of mainstream hip-hop, Flipcide was influenced by artists like Public Enemy, NWA, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G. and The Geto Boys. He identified with everything that hip-hop is: Defiant, gritty, truthful, unruly and anti-establishment. The music exposed Flipcide to a world that he couldn’t always identify with through experience, but he was feeling some of the same emotions the artists' expressed and related to the music on that level. He sometimes felt like an outsider just like they did. He was unhappy with certain situations just like they were. He felt some injustice in his life just like they did. When he put his headphones on he felt like someone understood him for the first time in his life. Playing the same song on repeat for hours, he would listen to the artist’s lyrics, delivery as well as the song’s composition. He began to envision himself on the other side of the headphones; the one reaching the world through song. Since that time, Flipcide has been passionately crafting the unique sound and style that you hear today.
