Flaven is a Canadian singer and songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist who composes and produces various genres of music.
Many are his influences: Rock, Country, Folk, Hard Rock, Metal and Pop.
Contrary to all musical trends, he knows how to cease the moment, create controversy all by remaining true to his roots.
As a visionary and risk taker, he is open to explore any possibilities that music has to offer.
Flaven was born on May 6, 1981 in a little town South of France. At the early age of 8, he spent most of his time singing the French repertoire from music legends Michel Sardou, Francis Cabrel, Renaud, Brassens, Goldman, Duteil and many more… This sparked a passion in songwriting and molded his craft in singing.
His very 1st classic guitar that he bought was meant as a present for his mother, little did he know that it would be that instrument that would enlighten his love for guitar.
His 1st CD his friend brought, changed his life completely in every sense of the word. The album cover was a picture of a guy jumping on stage, with long blond hair.
It was the Double CD Live at Domington for an Australian band call AC/DC . From that day on, Flaven studied, played, followed, breathed, lived and memorized every moves and riffs that came out of that CD. He was the spitting image of Angus Young. Guitar playing was never going to be the same.
Hard Rock music had taken an expansion in the life of this young artist, his boom box and headphones was continuously blaring out tracks from the well-known, Metal Rock bands Europe, Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Gun’s and Roses, Metallica, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bryan Adams, Ugly Kid Joe, Bruce Spingsteen, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Def Leppard, Thunder, Manowar.
At the age of 15, he joined his first french pop band "Paradoxal". This was a garage band composed by old friends.
The band performed a few shows and lasted 2 years in the local scene. They later split up in 1999.
In 1999, Flaven started to record his first tracks with Cubase Audio 1.6.
He then became the lead singer of Silversmiths a Hard Rock / Metal band playing covers of Metallica, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Ugly kid Joe, Manowar...
He spent the majority of his time in the Music room / basement of the bassist of the band.
He stumbled across (Goodbye Earl) by the Dixie Chicks and downloaded by mistake. Following that musical experience, he became curious about Country music and Country artists. Soon many more tracks were added to his album collection as Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Hank Willams jr, Burning Day Light, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Mark Knoppfler, Irish music too as The Dubliners and The Corrs ...
Country music was far to be a popular music in south of France, Flaven wasn’t fitting with the French musical scene.
Flaven started to write few of songs in solo and discovered the new version of Cubase VST. He wrote about 12 songs in 6 months.
In February 2002, Flaven moved to Montreal leaving everything behind. It was time to develop and to perfect the skills he acquired at an earlier age and Musitechnic sound engineering school would craft him to be an audio technician with mastering recording audio techniques.
Since then he never stopped writing songs. Since autumn 2012, he started to collaborate with local artists.
