Finlandia Fridays: Episode 139 FinnU's Award Winning Nursing Program with Lori Sullivan by Finlandia University Podcast Network published on 2020-12-18T15:08:42Z Finlandia University’s nursing program was ranked as a top program in Michigan for the second year in a row by Nursing Schools Almanac. Nursing Schools Almanac evaluated over 3,000 schools on the institution’s academic prestige and perceived value, the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered, student success, particularly on the NCLEX licensure examination. From there, an overall score was applied and schools were ranked accordingly. FinnU came in at number 26 in the state of Michigan thanks to a number of factors including continual high first-time NCLEX pass rates, job placement rates, and the high number of clinical and hands-on hours students receive in the program. Joining Olivia Myers on Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about the award was the program director, Lori Sullivan, about the accolade, how the nursing program has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming move to the new College of Health Sciences building in a few weeks.
