DJ and performance artist. Lives and works in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.
After being involved with bands in indie rock and guitar in the 90s, Fernando Ribeiro became rock DJ in 1998. Until the early 2000s continued playing 80s rock and indie rock to begin migrating to the electronic music trends lounge.
In 2002, having as partner DJ Adriano Costa aka DJ AC, founded the Alternate DJs, underground project, which proposed good electronic music all Tuesdays at James Bar, a notorious bar of indie rock from Curitiba. The Alternate DJs went beyond a simple evening of electronic music but became a great laboratory opening up possibilities for different DJs and styles of electronic music. For Fernando Ribeiro was to solidify support in Curitiba scene as DJ downtempo and deep house. During that same period, the Alternate DJs was support for working with other projects such as Nice House and Bomb The Basement, alongside DJs Adriano Costa and Mauricião.
As a week project, the Alternate DJs lasted five years. Ribeiro made it possible to produce but the most diverse parties such as Grooveland Party, which together with DJ Edground (Grooveland Music) brought DJs Victor Simonelli and Charles Spencer (Loveslap!) for their region. In 2005, a weekly program broadcast by German webradio Loud-fm and led the program in the Alternate DJs webTV Groovechannel. Also became a resident of Discofreaks party, facing the proliferation of house music in the city of Foz do Iguaçu / PR.
Between the years 2007 and 2008, produced the radio show 91 Blackbeats, broadcast by local radio station 91 Rock and back to soul, funk, rare grooves, acid jazz.
Also in 2007, took over the residence of the wednesday night in the Santillana Lounge Bar, touching the soul, funk, acid jazz to deep house. From 2009 and in partnership with the Brazilian label house music Grooveland Music, his residence was titled Grooveland Sessions and more facing deep house, soulful house and house music.
Currently, Fernando Ribeiro continues with Grooveland Sessions nights and to produce independent parties of the Alternate DJs and Bomb the Basement.
