BLKMGK - Bad Girl feat. Jayy Starr
LÅ, Sweden native, BLKMGK has an unique take on hip hop/urban/dance music. Not following trends, this seasoned artist and music producer expertly dips his fingers into what ever he wants, just as long as it has passion and that gritty feel. You might think that just because BLKMGK is making dance music that there’s no other message besides “party, dance, get drunk and fuck shit up” but no: Even though BLKMGK isn’t a political agitator we still say fuck you to right wing politics, racism, anti feminism and the sick amount of drugs pumped out in to society every day. Educate yourself. On May 2nd 2014, Heavy Artillery Recs. is releasing the debut BLKMGK single “Bad Girl feat. Jayy Starr”, a super fresh, club smashing track with ample attitude and bounce - taking Los Angeles femcee Jayy Starr from the new school Hip-Hop scene, and straight to the dance floor!
South Central bred, self proclaimed "Demi-Goddess", MC, singer, songwriter and all around "Jack" of all trades, Jayy Starr is a young rising maverick in the Hip-Hop music world. Jayy easily defies the stereotypes, she's much more than a pretty face. She skillfully blends swagger and harmony into a seamless flow, fiercely serving up killer songs for the modern and classic hip-hop lover! Most recently she released a full length project titled “Digitized Euphoria” which only solidified the fact that she is a force to be reckoned with. Taking a different route with beat selection and song writing and showing an even wider range of versatility this easily became her best body of work to date. Jayy has also recently returned from Atlanta on a studio binge with Multi-Platinum producers LT Moe and Chris "Traxx" Rogers creating several hits from start to finish. One of which, "Money On Me", was released this summer and is in the beginning stages of a major radio push nationwide. She is also in the studio completing her next full length project set for release Spring 2014. Apart from her own tunes Jayy has also recently been given opportunities to write for some well respected major recording artists. Starr is currently continuing to build her buzz on the streets and the internet. With her fan base growing daily and blogs worldwide becoming believers of Hip-Hop's Young Goddess, she plans to take the world by storm with her influential heartfelt music. “I pour my heart into every track I make. I can finish a full song, go back and read it, not feel it, and start all over. I’m a perfectionist. Every song I make is a part of my legacy. Whether it be a club joint or something conscious, it has to mean something at the end of the day.” She is hoping to become the new gold standard for females in hip-hop. “I sing, write, rap, produce, and engineer. I also act and direct. Once I get it in it’ll be a problem” Says Jayy.
