Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Fatha Green exploded onto the indie scene in 2011 with his Psychedelic, Funk, Pop, R&B dance band 'Purple & Green’ alongside indie musician/producer Adam Forkner aka White Rainbow.
They won one of the top 10 spots for Best New Band in Portland, Oregon, published by the Willamette Week in the spring of 2011. (http://www.wweek.com/portland/article-17445-best_new_band_2011.html)
The pair met while Forkner was playing an impromptu show with his experimental DJ collective Rob Walmart. While passing by, Fatha Green grabbed the mic and laid down some fresh vocals to a jerkin beat Forkner was playing then disappeared into the night.
The intrigued Forkner tracked Green down and the rest is magical music history. Thier first single was the hot soulful house track ‘Right Here’ (https://soundcloud.com/theecstasyblog/purple-green-right-here)
Purple & Green spawned two music videos produced by Judah Switzer (https://youtu.be/AepB5V_xKA0) & (https://youtu.be/14qv2smbt6Q) and left a wake of sweaty bodies from show to show.
After disbanding in 2012, Green continued to lend his vocals to local NW bands and producers such as Miracles Club for their ‘Light Of Love Remixes’ album featuring on the track ‘So Hot’ (https://pro.beatport.com/track/so-hot-club-mix/2728707), as well as Seattle based dance pop duo USF to feature on their single ‘Outtamind’ (http://www.imposemagazine.com/bytes/new-music/usf-outtamind-fatha-green-mp3), and then on to collaborate with LA based producer Magic Touch aka Damon Palermo, to be featured on his EP ‘Nothing More’ released by fledging label True Romance.
