Onirik started his quest into sound in 2002 by digging up wax in the record shops of Brussels. Starting from a darker sound with a melancholic edge he then sunk into anything that would tickle his ears, including house, techno,electronica, dubstep, funk, rock, soul,jazz or disco. This wide spectrum of influences often found middle ground in the fascination for trippy and dreamy atmospheres. In 2007, the move to London consolidated the passion for house music with a dubby and deeper edge, perfect for the early morning sets, once the pressure for stomping peak time beats has faded and the public is ready to drift away in elegance. Onirik will quickly become part of the East London electronic scene, hosting a monthly event at Corbet Place and being invited to play in crucial warehouse parties such as Toi Toi Musik, Half Baked or Lokee and clubs such as Fabric or Cafe1001. It’s also in London that he started collaborating with the Serialism and Mean imprints ventually leading him to work as A&R. In May 2012 Onirik moved to Berlin to look for new inspiration. His debut EP,released in July 2012 on Serialism was finalized there, receiving much praise from the electronic press and public.
The year 2013 saw Onirik leave the A&R job at Serialism to embrace his own project, Finest Hour Records, a vinyl only imprint co‐founded together with dj/production partner Pablo Tarno, which launched in December with a first release by Audio Werner.
In the meantime Onirik has performed in the key clubs of Berlin such as Watergate, Club der Visionaere and Renate or internationally in Monasterio (Moscow) and Blkmarket Membership (New York), further more developing his musical skills and culture, now being able to adapt to any situation with his own very personal sound signature, a driving and hypnotic balance between house and techno, raw, trippy & gangsta.
