Fake News is a driven, direct and charismatic music production duo with a unique approach to their sound. Their music could be described as a powerful blend of bass house, tech house and breakbeat, among other influences. Their sound is inspired by some of the world’s hardest hitting dance music legends, including Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, and more.
The project consists of Ren based in Guildford, UK, and Girts, from Riga, Latvia. The two have had separate careers, producing music as solo acts. Eventually, they teamed up for a collaboration about 5 years ago, which was quite successful! Following a break from music, they converged together and kickstart their music careers once again!
As of late, Fake News have released a string of unofficial remixes, which are actually helping the pair gain some exposure! The sheer quality of their productions alone is garnering them tons of support from major blogs. Lately, the team even paired up with one of the best PR companies with a focus on dance music.
The pair is committed to creating great-sounding dance tracks, with world-class mixing skills. The low end of the frequency range is thick, powerful and deep, adding more weight an dimension to the whole sound. On the other hand, the midrange is crispy, but never harsh, making for a perfect level of presence. Last, but decidedly not least, the treble frequencies of the spectrum are perfectly silky, making for a very smooth feel that never feels overly papery or sibilant. Great electronic music is all about balance, and there is indeed a really perfect balance in Fake News tracks, which truly helps the music stand out, in addition to the pair’s unique melodic sensibilities.
