Ezra Donner composer · pianist · teacher Michigan Ezra Donner (b. 1986) is an American composer, pianist, conductor, and educator. His music has been performed throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Turkey, and awards and recognition for composition have come from the Respighi Prize Competition, the Music Teachers’ National Association, the Boston New Music Initiative, the Midwest Graduate Music Consortium, ClefWorks, and the Tobenski-Algera Concert Series. An experienced opera, choral, and instrumental conductor, Ezra served as Music Director with The University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society from 2015-2016. As a pianist, Ezra was selected as a Finalist in the 2nd Annual G. Gershwin International Music Competition in 2014, and has served as accompanist at Interlochen Arts Camp, University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Brooklyn Repertory Opera. Ezra holds a Doctor of Music Degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music with High Honors from the University of Michigan. His teachers have included Claude Baker, Don Freund, and P.Q. Phan, Michael Colgrass, Bright Sheng, and William Bolcom.
