Melodic Death Metal band from St-Petersburg (Russia).
EXHUMATION is one of the most recognizable extreme-metal bands of St. Petersburg. The style of the band can be characterized as medium-speed old-school Swedish melodic death that can hardly be found among the latest releases. Formed in 1997, EXHUMATION become one of the pioneers of melodic death metal in Russia (along with “Absurd” and “Seducer's Embrace”). After recording two demos ("Unholy" - 1997 and "The Wandering" - 1998), the band records its first full-scale album "Symbol Of Fear", which was released in MC-format under the Fenka R'n'R label. The material received positive reviews from critics in Russia and abroad, but was not released in CD format and didn't gain wide recognition because of the dull promotion work of the label.
In 2001 EXHUMATION took a break for the reason of disagreements inside the band. At the end of 2008, after going through some lineup changes the band returns to the stage. In 2011 the recording and mastering of the second album "City Of Decay" under the METALLIZM RECORDS label were finished. The album was mixed and mastered by Arcady Navakho at Navakhohut studio. The album was recorded with assistance of guest musicians: Sergey Bredis – vocals (Inexist) and Anton Kravchenko – bass guitar (-t De Sangre).
EXHUMATION shared a stage with such bands as Catamenia (Finland), My Grain (Finland), Final Down (Finland), Korumba (Espana), Degradead (Sweden), etc. At the beginning of 2012 Internet single “Windwalker” was released. Presently, the band is working at the material for a new album again.
