Originally hailing from Glastonbury, UK and nurtured on a strict diet of mix tapes, raving in fields and doodling in school books, producer, DJ and visual artist, Alex Eveson, has been making his journey through the deeper spectrum of Drum & Bass since the mid 2000's.
After initially breaking into the scene as a designer, with artwork for labels such as Metalheadz, Exit Records and Quarantine, it was Eveson’s music that soon became the centre of attention after Fabio debuted a selection of early productions on his BBC Radio 1 show in the summer of 2006. Eveson was quickly propelled into the limelight and over the coming months, went from an unknown name to one of the most featured Drum & Bass artists on UK airwaves whilst his signature ‘soulful and groove driven’ productions found their way into the record boxes of DJs from all corners of the scene, gaining support from the likes of Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, Grooverider, DJ Marky, Shy FX, dBridge, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Doc Scott, Total Science, Loxy, Friction, Bailey, Flight and countless others.
As well as the launch of his own art/music fusion label 'Channel 82', the ensuing years saw Eveson stacking up releases across a selection of the scene's finest labels, from oldschool legends Good Looking, 31 Records and Creative Source, to new school taste makers such as Horizons Music, Critical and Shogun Ltd, culminating in the 2012 release of his multi-genre spanning debut album 'The Last Summer Of Love' on V recordings.
2014 saw Eveson re-emerge with a new experimental Jungle alias, Dead Man's Chest, as a means to explore his original influence of early 90s mixtapes. The series of EPs for Ingredients Records culminated in a string of chart topping records and led to the 2016 release of the Trilogy Mixtape, a 90 minute collage of tripped out jungle revivalism (released on cassette), written as an ode to Eveson's rave tapes of yesteryear.
2017 marks a new chapter in Eveson's decade long career, with the emergence of Western Lore as the latest vessel for his musical and visual ideas. With support from cutting edge taste makers such as Special Request, DjRum, Sully, Om Unit and Martyn, to hardcore junglist soldiers worldwide, Eveson's creativity shows no signs of slowing down.
