Junglist queen Euphonique is recognised worldwide as a serious dubplate spinner, bad gal producer and nurturer of new talent. Originally from Manchester, now residing in Bristol, she brings the sound of these two influential cities together as a wicked producer in her own right, with releases on a number of well-known labels - including Hospital Records, Born on Road, Jungle Cakes and her own - Subwoofah - she’s a force to be reckoned with.
With the rise of the ‘she’s good for a girl’, Euphonique rose to the occasion by releasing a number of heavyweight tracks on imprints such as Liondub, Audio Addict and Murky Digital, Deep In The Jungle, Ruffneck Ting and Born on Road hoping to pave the way for females and kill the stigma around women producers, and in 2020 she had her first solo number one with her ‘No Escape EP’ and has more recently gone on to release on Hospital Records with an EP in the works for Dread. She now gets regular plays on Radio 1, 1xtra and other stations and has had a number of other tasty top 10s since she got her own productions out there in 2018.
But that’s not where her story started….
Back in 2006 as a teenager, Euphonique joined the free party scene, inspired by the DJs and raves-in-caves she wanted nothing more than to be behind the decks, but with a lack of support from her male peers, she turned to youth workshops and and a music course at college to teach her what she needed to know - before buying her own equipment and practising day-to-day. Lucky enough to have tutors such as Jon Da Silva and Mark XTC - now a close friend - Euphonique learned to spin on both vinyl and what were, at that time, new CDJS. She got her first professional gig at 18 in 2008, at the legendary Hit & Run in Manchester and has never looked back.
In 2011 Euphonique launched Subwoofah - a bass heavy music event run throughout the North West that in 2013 she developed into a record label.
Euphonique has done a wealth of radio presenting throughout the UK and online, at Unity Radio, Origin UK, Bloc2Bloc, DnBRadio, Rood FM and more, more recently joining Bristol’s SWU.FM in 2020.
Since her first gig in 2008 she has performed worldwide, visiting countries including England, Wales, France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Serbia, Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam. She has performed at some of the UK’s biggest festivals including Glastonbury and Boomtown and has been nominated as Best Female Jungle DJ in the We Love Jungle Awards 2016 + 2017 and Best Breakthrough DJ 2018. With recent features in Mixmag, DnB Arena, UKF, BBC and Red Bull throughout 2019-2020.
