Eric Koondel Eric Koondel Orlando My journey into the recording world began in 1982, where I became interested in playing the drums. I continued to play drums for 25 years all the while becoming interested in gear throughout my teens and into my early twenties. It was my mid twenties where I decided to study recording formally. I went to school and then immediately wanted more guidance, so I decided to do 2 internships at two distinctly different facilities where I learned on great consoles and outboard gear. After the internships, I turned my sights on the freelancing world, where in trial by fire fashion proceeded to learn my craft. A few years into freelancing I was approached with the offer to become a teacher of the recording arts, as well. Now, 14 years into my career, I have not only had opportunities to assist along side great engineers (Eric Schilling, Eddie Kramer) but also produce, mix and master for great artists both domestic and international (Soilwork, Cynic, Malevolent Creation, Riothead, and Snovonne). My love for gear has remained over the years as well where I review headphones for mixing as well as beta test speakers and plugins, which has allowed me to find the best tools for me to better serve my clients’ vision.
