III. Hydrotrilogy – Harbour Nostalgia by Epa Fassianos

This miniature is place-specific (harbour) and it includes an amalgam of real-world soundscapes and abstract soundscapes, with smooth transitions between them. Pitched material is also present in the abstract soundscapes sections. I attempted to focus on the nostalgic feeling I develop when promenading on a Hellenic island harbour before departing and I aimed to depict this emotion through the sonic textures of the boats themselves, as well as through an abstract pitched soundscape which consisted of transformed pitched material in combination with transformed boat sound textures.
