The term "set" indicates a grouping of any type of elements, mathematical, logical or conceptual, deeply defined and determined, identified by means of a characteristic common to the elements that belong to it. A notion, which is assumed to be primitive and intuitive. Primitive, as introduced as a not derivable from more elementary concepts and intuitive, because introduced as a generalization of the notion of finite set. From this definition, we start to try to tackle one of the problems inherent in the trasformation process of continuous temporal models, in the relative discrete counterparts that belong to the traditional system of metric / duration subdivisions. An investigation that starts from the analysis of the laws that regulate the behavior, up to the awareness of a completeness such that, we should consider the existence of a further group of duration elements that are part of it: the metric / duration imaginary units. Literally, we talk about "values" that until now could be marked only as an approximation of a near or totally undefined value: two extremes totally incompatible with the idea of "value" in itself that, in a field of absolute discretization it is imperative, "must" represent every determination of which a variable is susceptible, independently or not: to represent as much as faithfully possible the magnitude of duration it expresses. A risky theoretical deductive logical process that tries to extricate itself among the articulations of a concrete structure designed ad hoc for work Studio XX, to better understand the sense of the elements whose existence is theorized.
