Emilio Aguilar, tenor Emilio Aguilar Amsterdam Contact: emalaguilar@gmail.com Emilio Aguilar, tenor, born in Argentina in 1989. Emilio started his musical education studying piano at age 9 and singing at age 15, both at the Conservatory Gilardo Gilardi in his hometown, La Plata. Upon finishing high school, Emilio studied choral conducting at the University of Bellas Artes, Argentina. In September 2010, he moved to the Netherlands to study voice with Valerie Guillorit in the Classical Department at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, finishing his Bachelor degree in June 2015. In 2020, Emilio completed his Master degree in Early Music Voice at the Conservatory of Amsterdam (Cum Laude) with teacher Xenia Meijer, and a research Master degree in Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam (Cum Laude). Emilio is a member of the Dutch Radio Choir and works as a freelancer with the Netherlands Chamber Choir and the Netherlands Bach Society. In addition, he works as a soloist in oratorio and early music concerts with groups such as Musica Temprana (Adrian van der Spoel), Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya (Jordi Savall), Ensemble Elyma (Gabriel Garrido) and Le Nuove Musiche (Krijn Koetsveld). He is also a founding member of the ensemble Seconda Practica, with whom he has performed in the most prestigious European festivals: the Festival d’Ambronay (France), Göttingen Handel Festspiel (Germany), Stockholm Early Music (Sweden), Utrecht Oude Muziek (The Netherlands) and Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik (Austria). After three years of studying the Feldenkrais Method with teachers Mia Segal and Leora Gaster in Bad Tölz, Germany, Emilio became a Mind and Body Studies practitioner in June 2017. He has taught together with Irthe Aya Engelhard the course Body&Mind at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Currently, he gives regular workshops that combine singing with the Feldenkrais Method in the Conservatory of Utrecht and Amsterdam.
