Elijah Jamal Balbed Elijah Balbed Washington, DC Saxophonist and composer Elijah Jamal Balbed is a Washington, DC native who has performed and toured in Japan, Qatar, London, and the Carribean. A graduate of Howard University, Elijah has performed with a variety of notable artists including Cyrus Chestnut, Lalah Hathaway, Nicholas Payton, Dr. John, Raheem DeVaughn, Eric Benet, and many others. Best known for playing with the late, great, Godfather of Go-Go music, Chuck Brown, Elijah is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of DC's indigenous style of music - Go-Go.
