Eleanor Dillon Eleanor Dillon Bristol North Somerset singer-songwriter Eleanor Dillon’s music takes influence from traditional Folk bands and artists such as Sandy Denny and Steeleye Span along with as well as being heavily influenced by singer-songwriters Fiona Apple, Soley and Sun Kil Moon. The first of Eleanor’s songs were initially intended for other performers, however her songs eventually became her own, utilising strong melodies and complex chord progressions. "Phenomenal guitarist and singer songwriter who has carved out her own path having sprung from the Nailsea Folk Club. She has now appeared at countless venues including the Green Man festival" - Nailsea Folk Club “The songwriting is lyrically mature and the songs' construct complex and with strong dynamic elements” “And then there's this voice. In complete contrast to her speaking voice, she delivers in a powerful, gravelly mezzo, maintaining strong melody and pitch perfection throughout - it's a pretty startling sound.” “Outstanding." - Geoffrey Head. "Occasionally you come across an emerging artist and some aspect of their music stops you in your tracks, makes you wonder why they haven’t been immediately snapped up by an agency or record label to be honed for greater things. Hearing Eleanor Dillon’s voice for the first time was just one of those moments. Employing some confident and dexterous guitar lines and a firm grasp of the art of song writing that any artist would kill to have in their repertoire, it is a sign of just how striking her voice is to say that all of that seems to fade into the background once the voice kicks in." "Timeless, traditional and still contemporary yet not beholden to the pressure of current fad or fashion." "Leaning heavily on the seventies folk revival sound she manages to channel the purity of the likes of Sandy Denny or Carole King and in doing so goes to places that other, current acoustic artists don’t even get close to. Not for her the usual twee and obvious girl with a guitar compromises, no playing of the age card, instead a collection of strong narratives, introspective thoughts and a voice that is nothing short of extraordinary." - Dave Franklin (Dancing About Architecture) Eleanor Dillon EP is available for listening at www.soundcloud.com/eleanordillonmusic And available for purchase at eleanordillon.bandcamp.com Other pages: www.reverbnation.com/eleanordillon www.youtube.com/eleanordillonmusic www.twitter.com/ellieandbodhie Eleanor Dillon’s tracks Antler by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:38Z Untitled No.1 by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:34Z My Town by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:29Z I Only Have My Head by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:25Z Grit by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:21Z Emma by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:16Z Birdsong by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:16Z Untitled No.3 by Eleanor Dillon published on 2015-04-07T20:29:11Z Number Fourteen by Eleanor Dillon published on 2014-04-06T12:13:05Z Start by Eleanor Dillon published on 2014-04-06T12:13:04Z
