Eldad Tarmu Eldad Tarmu New York Los Angeles born vibraphonist and composer Eldad Tarmu is currently performing in the New York area, where he has been living since 2008. He has a doctorate in Music Performance and a Master's degree in Classical Music Composition from Stony Brook University, as well as a Master's degree in Afro-Latin Music from California State University Los Angeles. He has recorded and performed with some of the most significant figures in their musical genres, including Poncho Sanchez, Ernie Watts, Taj Mahal, Cybil Shepherd, Freddie Hubbard, Billie Higgins, Frank Morgan and Ron Affif. He has performed in over twenty-five countries around the world, in various festivals and concert tours. He has released 6 CDs under his own name, including Get Up Close, which was number 20 on the US Jazz radio charts for 4 straight weeks. One of his contemporary classical CDs Songs for the Queen Of Bohemia features Tabac String Quartet from Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra of Timisoara and Israeli drummer Yoni Halevy. This project crosses jazz and Middle Eastern music with chamber music and has developed into a symphonic jazz project that made its debut on the stage of the Philharmonic in Timisoara on January 31, 2009. He is currently preparing the release of another contemporary classical CD, called Stained Glass Stories, featuring a woodwind quintet from Stony Brook University.
