Eet Pdx Alyssa and Ryan Reed Stuewe Portland Eet (Ryan Stuewe and Alyssa Reed-Stuewe) is a life-partnered duet that was born from a love of improvising and live-looping in a damp basement in Portland in 2002. Ryan brings sampled sound texture and rhythm. Alyssa brings voice and movement. We craft diverse and indeterminate sound worlds, scoring a subtle-dance-visual-process that is redefined with each show. Our collaboration sounds to us like experimental musique-concrete pop. We owe as much to the pioneers of electro-acoustic and aleatoric musics as we do to well-produced hip-hop, soul, and other indigenous musics such as gamelan and dancehall. We engage considerably with the natural world, food and humor. Say “eat”.
