Born and raised in Sydney, Australia - Edward uses music as a medium to express his inner thought.
Head honcho and founder of Motion, Edward endorses a love for minimal music and has forged his path to pioneering a unique sound that will stand the test of time.
Cementing his spot in the Sydney scene at such venues as SASH, Afters, Chinese Laundry, Club 77 and many more; The current climate of Sydney nightlife kept the flame alive to search for more inspiration to progress and truly understand the power of music & the effect it has on individuals & masses.
In the pursuit to find an equilibrium between the weird and underground, he found the likes of such groups as “FUSE London, Tamango, INKAL, Whoyostro, Moscow Records” that played as the foreground of searching for minimal that can create a statement. Supporting the likes of artists such as Amelie Lens, Patrick Topping, Marco Faraone, Bart Skils, MK, Fatboy Slim, Armand Van Helden, Jody Wisternoff, Dom Dolla, Clive Henry, Farrago and many more legends of music, Edward has worked and played with a large roster of names which has opened a world to explore what drives each artist and understand their musicality.
“Before I started this journey I had no idea that my musical world from playing instruments and learning theory during my early days would translate into the world of DJing and producing music. I am very fortunate to have a father who is a musician as it allowed me to open a door I might not have otherwise tried to open.”
Edward comes into the new era of 2020 with a plethora of releases under various platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud, etc. With a late 2018 Hype Beatport release on renowned Australian label ‘Double Up Records’ and plenty more music yet to be released, Edward Fedotov is certainly one to watch.
