DJ Sy @ Slammin' Vinyl NYE 2001 - Keep It Locked by DJ Jedi published on 2014-05-27T15:01:54Z This is a live recording featuring DJ Sy and MC's Ethos and Whizzkid from Slammin' Vinyl @ The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes on New Years Eve 2001/2002. My old mates Stormtrooper, D-Lyte and I had bankrupted ourselves buying studio gear and getting our first record pressed, which we sent out to all of our favourite hardcore DJs. A few weeks later we were celebrating NYE at Slammin' Vinyl, and the legend that is DJ Sy played our new track "Keep it Locked" in his set. This moment is special to me for a few reasons - firstly, this was back when any hardcore DJ worth his salt played a set full of Scott Brown tracks, so to make the cut amongst iconic tracks like "Elysium" and "Turn Up The Music" was a real honour. This is also from a time before DJs played CDs and producers could make a track on nothing but a laptop, so it took a lot of effort and money to put a record out, something producers now will never appreciate. Finally, The Sanctuary is one of the most legendary rave venues of all time which has sadly been gone for over 10 years now, so to hear our track played there in front of about 5000 people was pretty unforgettable. It's not the best track in the world and it also didn't cement us (well me at least) in history as bona-fide hardcore producers, but I take my hat off to Sy for playing it and making three 19 year old kids very happy :) Genre hardcore Comment by Fox Wo_OW!!!!!!!1111I like so much!!!!11 It's a pity there's no download button)))) 2014-05-28T06:04:25Z Comment by HC recordings Well just read your wright up, and enjoyed the story behind this track just as much as the track it's self, you say it not the best track, but its a good one none the less, this is worth a buy if its ever a D/L from a store (first time hear of this you see). Early 2000's what a great era that was with the for Hardcore. Big up :) 2014-05-28T06:02:34Z
