"If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." - Emma Goldman
We were sitting at Maple Dale, after swimming and Shane and Josh were saying that we should put on a rave. Then I suggested we put on a show at the Landmark Centre. So in 2 days we learned how to, just about, DJ, got our setlist together put posters up and got the sound system together.
After that first show we were sitting in my house listening to Dubstep that our number one fan, Dylan, was showing us and he was looking at the periodic table that was hanging on the wall and noticed that there is an element called Dubnium. And so our name was born.
At our 2nd show Dylan showed us all that he is quite fantastic at freestyling, he is now our official unofficial MC. We were also graced the presence of a very talented musician and friend, who rocked the sax, big time. This show was so epic that we even blew a speaker, and got kicked out.
The saga of Dubnium Soundsystem shall continue into the next year as we shall hopefully be putting on shows about once a month.
Due to being kicked out of the before mentioned Landmark Centre progress has been slowed on putting on our next show. But don't worry, the forces of evil cannot stop the sounds of these freedom songs. We'll find a venue!
We had a great time at the Halloween Show, hope everyone else did too. Majorly lovin the new subs, they make the ground shake with much joy. Haha, you gotta love copious amounts of bass. Dylan MC'd for some tunes, man, spot on bruv is all I gotta say.
Soon we shall be acquiring a midi deck/mixer controller (yes!), finally, can't wait.
We shall continue shows and hopefully do a show on the radio now and then.
Just for the record, Db = DUBNIUM, BITCHES!
Got another radio show in, so much fun. You get to just sit there and play awesome music, and talk about it.
Had an Xmas show at YIHS; was fun. People told us that they could hear our tunes when they were still a block away in their car. Gotta be a good sign...
We will hopefully be having some shows coming up, we will keep all you people informed and up to date.
And the stack continues to evolve.
We built a pair of 15 inch scooped subs, and soon will build a pair of 18 inch folded subs.
Till next time, keep the tunes crankin, the bass pumpin, and the speakers workin....and don't forget to burn Babylon.
-DJ Rambler, and Shane
