BIO #! Started electronic music in 1968 at the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music. Bob Moog was our tech because he could not afford one yet - second BIG Moog sold. Great guy ! Tried to do mix of "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" I co-wrote with Rod Stewart in 1998. ( Bio #2 below) Big hit with small station in LA. "Songs' as they said were too long by the BIG station that owned the MORE popular little station that was playing "rave and other original music" ! Moby just started touring. SO FREAKING happy about Electronica,EDM FINALLY breaking through !! I started up again a year ago and getting hooked back up. Let there be music with out prejudice !!! Hitch
BIO #2 -- Grammy Award winning songwriter and concert/studio keyboard player. Classically trained on piano since 5. Brought up on a farm outside Syracuse , New York. Played in country and rock bands since 1957. Played on hit record "Heart And Soul" 1959 at age 16. Toured with Dick Clark tours (Del Shannon, Bobby Vinton etc.). San Francisco and Philadelphia Conservatories of Music and Syracuse University majoring in piano, composition and electronic music . Studied with Oscar Peterson, the great jazz pianist. Recorded/played in 60s and early 70's - Original member of Buddy Miles Express (Electric Flag) - ( introduced to Buddy Miles by the great white blues guitar player, Michael Bloomfield. Played/recorded with Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jeff Beck, Etta James, Miles Davis etc. Member of rock group- Cactus with Carmine Appice and Tim Bogart - 70's then Cactus II and Thee Image with Mike Pinera. Duane went on to play with and wrote for Alice Cooper. He was a member of Alice's band. Duane stated he was a great guy and had a blast ! -------------------------- Grammy for the ballade , “I’ll Be Here Were The Heart Is” with Kim Carnes ( also singing , of course) and Craig Krampf for movie Flashdance. ------ He co-wrote and played on "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy with Rod Stewart" ( though he did not get listed credit for a long time-clerical error – finally listed now as a co-writer ) , "Young Turks", "Infatuation" and "Crazy Bout Her". Rod and Jeff Beck, Duane recorded for the hit track/video of "People Get Ready". He also had hits/songs with Heart, Steve Perry, Pat Benetar, Kim Carnes, Michael Bolton , Eddie Money, Eric Carmen, etc. Duane co-wrote "Don't Look Any Further" with Frannie Golde and Dennis Lambert. Had over 150 covers , his bass line/chords that has ended up on a lot of rap/hip-hop hits - TLC, Tupac, Notorious Big, Prince, Snoop Dog etc. Written with Pam Tillis in the past and wrote a song with Kostas which was the title track for David Frizzell's last album. Also in the past. played keys on the last Runaway's album, the first all girl rock band from the 70s. Discovered a band called City Kidd-became the huge group, Tesla. ---------------- He still loves to gig now and then with his one man band plus a singer. Also Duane has returned to and been composing Electronic Music since his Conservatory days (late 60's) and is currently working on his first Trance/House/Electro/Dubstep etc. collection of music like “a driven man” as he states - “for it is the future”. He meant Bob Moog in 1967 at the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music ( first BIG Moog sold to a music school.) It was so new , Bob Moog could not afford a service man yet ! He has pieces of his work on the Reverbnation music player but states a few are a bit dated but will have some of it’s originality in his new stuff he is starting to post. Duane lives on his combination boat/home/recording studio in the Nashville area with his wife and partner, Connie. -------------------------------------------------------------
