Andy & Steve are brothers from south east of England who have been DJing together since 1996. The Driver Brothers seem to make a good impression on everyone they meet, and seem to forge good friendships which leads to fresh opportunities, which surely says a lot about them as DJs and people.
Having listened to dance music throughout the early-mid 90s, they were interested enough in the scene to purchase some very basic turntables and mixer. It took them a couple of years to break out of the bedroom and into the local bars and clubs, but have maintained a good number of residencies which shows dedication and enthusiasm in what they are doing. During the early stages of their learning curve, they collected anything from house to trance records, until, around the millennium, they focused on house, be it soulful, funky, US, UK – if it’s good they’ll play it! Influences from them include include Masters At Work, Carl Cox, Danny Rampling, Conan Manchester (Liquid People), Jeremy Healy, Allister Whitehead and many, many more…
Local gigs included a their eight year residency at Curve Bar, Route Nightclub, Hippodrome, Silk Road, Hub Bar, Qube, Slug & Lettuce, Spoofers, L'Aritos to name just a few!
Since 2004 they have branched out and played at a variety of gigs worldwide including; Pacha, Turnmills, Ministry of Sound (both Bar & Baby Box), The Egg, Herbal and boat parties in London. In Miami during the Winter Music Conference at Indra Lounge, a private mansion party for Sex Kitten Music, D'vine Lounge and the Wyndham Hotel. In Washington DC at Chi Cha, Hell, Anzu, Gua Rapo, Eyebar, Mantis and the Bossa Lounge. In Ibiza in the main room at Es Paradis, Hed Kandi Bar, Hush, The Orange Corner, Itaca, Plastik to name a few.
Early 2009 saw them branch out into radio and they started 'DRIVERSION' which is a fortnightly radio show broadcast on www.ssradio.com. The concept was to play their renowned styles and showcase guest mixes from both local talent and international superstars into a two hour show! The Driversion radio show has gone from strength to strength attracting guests such as; Benji Candelario, Danny Rampling, Lottie, Conan Liquid, Normski, Graeme Park, Ron Carroll, John Jones, Paul Trouble Anderson, Simon Reid, Hector Romero, Groove Junkies, Todd Terry, Oscar P, Alfred Azzetto, Jos Maria Ramon, Andy Daniell, Sam Divine, Timo Garcia, Aqua Booty to name just a few...
They continue to impress wherever they play and at whatever time of night or day, they can cater for most scenarios within the house genre! This is testament to the philisophy of how they started out, yet shows they can evolve and grow as a sign of the times.
