Having recently achieved their FOURTH single of the month in DJ Magazine, DPPLGNGRS keep up the pressure with their elegant bass heavy blend of techno,
house, and electro. This year’s releases Azure Protocol and Poindexter gained a
number of plays of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Capital Xtra, and XFM, in addition to
setting fire to dancefloors all over the globe.
Building on this and 2013’s smash single on Hottwerk Records “Sardo” (which gained support from the likes of Fake Blood, BBC Radio 1, and Capital FM) DPPLGNGRS have further release in 2014 lined up on Hottwerk, and Protohype Records.
Their remix of IDC’s Everybody’ was snapped up for the soundtrack of forthcoming
major Hollywood film Make Your Move, with other official remixes for OMD, Terry
Farley & Stretch Silvester, Asbo Kid, Splintr’d, Ollie Scott, and Killaflaw, join the
impressive list of acts who have already received the DPPLGNGRS touch. A brand
new live show and a string of DJ dates are also in store during 2014, following some
huge recent gigs, such as DPPLGNGRS storming set last Summer at much loved
festival The Secret Garden Party.
DPPLGNGRS have quickly gathered fans and momentum with their dancefloor-
decimating productions and remixes, and energetic electrically-charged DJ sets and
live shows. Having taken their techno action all over the UK and Europe,
DPPLGNGRS have left audiences smouldering in their wake.
BLACK MARKET HEART SURGERY
“Electro of the future” – Electro Album Of The Month - Mixmag “You’ve got to get in to this album!” – Eddy Temple-Morris (The Remix – XFM)
“There are certainly times on electro duo DPPLGNGRS debut album when the whirlpool acid sounds could be mistaken for The Chemical Brothers” – DJ Mag
“... the album features a collection of epic seven-minute-long electro floorfillers, where futuristic beats have been fantastically fused with muted robotic overtones...” – Press Association
Rising stars DPPLGNGRS have now achieved an impressive FOUR Moneyshots
(Singles of the month) in DJ Magazine, and their debut long-player Black Market
Heart Surgery gained the coveted spot of Electro Album Of The Month in Mixmag.
From the orchestrally reworked opening gambit Burning, to final track DEATH, Black
Market Heart Surgery is the result of the meeting of Tobias Doppelganger and Craig
Fury’s fevered minds – their various influences having been catalysed by misspent
youths on various dancefloors, and now distilled into nine tracks of electronic
Chicago, Detroit, New York, Berlin, Manchester and London all loom large in Tobias
and Craig’s listening histories, leaving their marks on DPPLGNGRS distinctive sound
which DJ Mag described in their June 2012 issue as a mash-up of “purple electro,
squelchy bleep techno, discoid house, and bass-heavy beats bizness.”
DPPLGNGRS eclectic habits are reflected across Black Market Heart Surgery, where
straight-for-the-jugular techno effortlessly meets leftfield acid, 808 meets 909,
electronic music shaped for dancefloors but informed by indie sensibilities.
"Both eyes firmly fixed on the dancefloor with a deftness of touch and an undeniable clubbers' nous" - DJ Magazine
"A pounding onslaught that really packs a punch" - Mixmag
