Down To Ground
Down To Ground is the music project created in January 2007, in the Province of Treviso, by four friends who shared the immense desire to compose and play their own songs, with the aim to have fun, and to convey different emotions, sensations and moods.
The short mention representing the opening words of this presentation, contains in few words the universe of Down To Ground, a multi-ethnic band with a strong international vocation. Hence the natural choice to use the English language in writing texts, they are even favoured by having a native English speaker, too.
So, also the name for this ambitious project was not accidental, and the choice was "Down To Ground", as it is the typical Anglo-Saxon expression used to indicate a person who pursues his aims, dreams and hopes, always keeping his feet on the ground.
Since the very first public concerts, the band has had an excellent success and has performed in many Venetian pubs and clubs, it took part in some music contests and got important results, among which Ritmi Globali Europei 2007, where they climbed to the third step.
In December 2007, for the first time the band entered a recording studio to release the first EP, made up of three songs, that drew the attention of important Italian discographies.
Unfortunately, when things seemed to be getting better, lacks of understanding and frictions arose inside the band, and this led the bass player and the drummer to leave.
Luckily the remaining members were not discouraged by these events and, with the help of other musicians, they went on having success in the Venetian background: they won the Best Live Band Award at the Jesolo Music Festival 2009 (they got the opportunity to open the Oi Ai Voi's concert, the famous British band, at the New Age Club in Roncade) and they started to record the first complete album of Down To Ground. But because of the scarce cohesion of the new band, the music composition activity reached a stalemate, and the participation of the singer and the guitarist in the TvTalents contest (that was organized by the Province of Treviso), created the conditions for the return of the two other members of the group.
The reunification turned out to be successful and led the band to win at TvTalents 2010 and to have the opportunity to share the stage with Motel Connection, an alternative project by Samuel of Subsonica.
In 2011 Down To Ground continued their intense live activity, performing at different important clubs and pubs in Northern Italy, such as Rock'n Roll in Milan, Bar Wolf in Bologna, Vinile in Bassano (Vi) and the New Age Club (Tv), in the meantime they ended the recording of their first album.
