The Da Vinci Decathlon by Lindsay McDougall published on 2019-05-09T08:20:49Z It's school against school, school kid against school kid - It's the Da Vinci Decathlon - named after Leonardo Davinci (known for the Mona Lisa, thinking up amazing feats of scientific impossibility, and for not ever doing a decathlon). The Da vinci Decathlon started 17 years ago at Knox College in Sydney and is now competed in by public & private schools all over the country, with a pretty amazing prize: competing in an event in Tuscany, Italy, Leonardo Da Vinci's hometown. About 16 schools from all around Wollongong, the South Coast and Southern Highlands gathered at The Illawarra Grammar School this week, and Lindsay McDougall sat down with the organisers, teachers and some of the participants: Oscar from Smith's Hill, Loren from TIGS, Andy from Illawarrs Christian School and Zach from Edmund Rice College.
