Ziggy Devriendt is a Belgian DJ known as Nosedrip. He has a focussed aesthetic that is all about dark music, heavy moods and enchanting trance vibes “that brings people to an early grave with a smile.” He has his own show on NTS that often gets wonderfully weird and freaky as it touches on post punk, new wave, synth and psych, as well as many occult sounds in between. He also played on the Red Light Radio stage at our recent festival and now casts another bit of brilliant sonic shade with this new mix for us.

In just over an hour, Nosedrip stitches together a spine tingling and haunted selection of slithering electronic sounds from across the ages. Sometimes with eerie keys, at others with rasping electro grooves and always with a rather desolate sense of atmosphere, there is a proto-techno and primitive electronic feel to the whole thing. War reporting monologues and spoken word poetry from John Cooper Clarke only add to the absorbing but unsettling nature of the whole thing and it marks one of the most singular selections of our series.
