TechSafari Record’s head honcho DJ Rikam has been an icone from the canadian psytrance scene for over three decades. Passionate about electronic music for more than 30 years, he has also devoted his life to the organization of events and festivals in the province of Quebec in Canada, and also to the promotion of artists, and the development of new talents in the global psytrance scene. After experimenting on dance floors and events on several occasions as a dancer, it was in 1992 that Rikam obtained his first vinyl record, purchased in a store specializing in techno music in Montreal. In 1994, he enthusiastically launched into the organization of events under the banner of Experience productions, and presented major evenings in the small town of Trois-Rivières, welcoming many participants and international artists such as Goa Gill , Tony Puglia (Symbiosis Records, UK) and DJ Nivoc (Ascend Records). In 1997, Rikam left Trois-Rivières to settle in Montreal, his hometown, organized events and presented guests such as TIP Bansi (RIP), Tsuyoshi Suzuki and Sid Shanti. In 2003, he founded the TechSafari collective with which he presented the Eclipse festival and Amazone Halloween parties, and invited artists such as Ace Ventura, X-Dream, Absolum, Deedrah, Ticon, Astrix, Talamasca, Dino Psaras and thus marked the beginning of a long journey that quickly ignited the Quebec and Canadian psytrance music scene.
In 2005, DJ Rikam was invited to join the Neurobiotic label with DJ Edoardo, Zen Mechanics, Earthling, Joti Sidhu, Polaris and DJ Dimitri Nakov. Through all the annual events in which he participates and collaborates, Rikam is inspired, creative and decides to move forward in 2013 with another project close to his heart, an old dream that has not yet materialized. He launched his own label 'TechSafari records' and the first digital and physical compilation 'Dreamscape' was born with tracks from Mad Maxx, Joti Sidhu, Sonic Species, E-Clip, Aes Dana and Voyager.
The boss of TechSafari records label had the honor of playing in several festivals and major events such as the Universo Parallelo festival in Brazil, Hadra in France, Experience in Thailand, Hiltop in Goa (India), New Healing in Germany, Tribal Gathering in Panama and several other events in Nepal, Japan, Italy, United States, Morocco, Mexico and Canada. His musical selection, his intensity and his long performances behind the turntables for which he is passionate, allow him to be still today considered a crowd favorite and a unifier on the dance floor.
