LORYN stands out from other DJs by being versatile, nonconforming, and innovative. She not only knows how to read crowds but can sense energies within a space.
DJ/producer/label owner/promoter, she wears many hats and her consistent and tireless work in the music industry since the late 90's has helped shape and innovate new trends and technologies in live performance and creative experiences. In her work she aims to bridge the gap between the visual and audio creating emotional landscapes and exciting sensations. Adaptable, relentless, yet consistent she is raising the bar for females paving their way through the industry by holding her own ground for over two decades, challenging new models with classic techniques, rock solid mixing and her own signature innovations. Her specialty is bringing a diverse group of people together on one dance-floor.
Getting started in music as a storytelling, guitar picking folk-singer, Loryn frequented open mics and coffee shops in the late 90's in New York. Her first self-produced acoustic album was independently released in 2002. She cut her teeth into songwriting, composition and studio production at a young age and has not looked back since. A true lover of all music she combines many different styles and genres making her performances unique and eclectic like musical journeys or epic tales. She works sounds of jazz, funk, classical, and organic noises like voice into her live sets and productions while using themes and concepts as the inspiration behind her many recordings.
Loryn is currently based out of Berlin where she runs her label and audio design brand, Caterpillar Audio, and works towards her academic goals, a PhD in Sound Studies / Audio Design.
