Mika Kitten, or Mika Nishio, her real name, is a DJ from Osaka, Japan.
While visiting England when she was 16, Mika was captivated by the various cultures she experienced in the E.U. Inevitably, she was drawn towards the club music scene. She then began traveling across Japan, over to Ibiza and throughout Europe in search of the latest sounds and biggest parties.
Drawing upon her experiences abroad, Mika began her DJ career in 2009. Flowing seamlessly through genres like House, Techno, Progressive House and Trance, Mika’s DJ sets showcase her ability to tease out the essence of the newest and hottest tracks and blend them together in a mix that defies genres and pounds the dance floor. Always the performer, Mika loves to read the crowd and give them what they want exactly when they want it - from melodic harmonies to groovy beats - all with a unique and original flair. She continues to use her musical sense and DJ skills to rise above the current electronic music scene.
In 2010, Mika began organizing “JETLAG” and “RAPTUS”, events that have attracted world class talent like Ferry Corsten, Max Graham, Moonbeam, Myon & Shane 54, Ali Wilson, Dinka, The Thrillseekers and many more, and have influenced the Progressive House and Trance scene throughout Japan. Alongside her events, Mika began her podcast, “OSAKA TO IBIZA RADIO”. Enjoying high ratings from around the world, her podcast showcases to the world a mix of Mika’s original tracks and the hottest beats of the day.
In the summer of 2013, Mika took to the main stage with some of the world’s top DJs at Europe’s infamous Monday Bar Cruise. Not to be overshadowed by such big names, she impressed the crowds with a memorable performance. Following this success, Mika successfully performed at 3 gigs in Malaysia in the spring of 2014 and was invited to headline the massive Anime Expo 2014 in Los Angeles, California. After rocking the crowd of 3000, Mika received accolades as the best Dance Stage Show the Expo has seen so far.
Following on her successful performances with EDM superstars VICETONE, Ummet Ozcan, VINAI, TJR, The Chainsmokers, 3LAU, Hook N Sling and many more, Mika has performed at Korea's mega club, GRID. In addition to delivering quality EDM performances, Mika has begun focusing on the techno scene and in Osaka in 2014 started "Himlen", a party that prides itself on providing only the best techno and progressive house. Himlen has increased in popularity with each offering and in 2015 welcomed techno star Scuba to its decks. With plans to invite more of the world's top techno artists, Himlen is currently the techno party in Osaka to keep your eye on.
In the summer of 2015 she performed a techno set in France's Montpellier and received rave reviews. Not confining herself to any single genre, Mika creates dance-floor stories by fusing a variety of tracks through her own style. Mesmerized by her musical journeys, fans of Mika are growing in number not only in Japan, but around the world.
