Dj Wasp / Dj Primate

Dj Wasp is one of the pioneers of the Belgian drum & bass scene. When saying Wasp, we once said Gamorah Sound, we then said Primate, we also said Therapy Sessions and now we say Space Pirate Recordings.

Wasp’s history in the drum & bass scene is a dynamic and significant one. His journey started mid 90's and took off when he became part of the notorious trio Gamorah Sound. They brought drum & bass to the Belgian masses in the 2000 era with great effect, and so they appeared as one of the very first drum & bass acts on the Pukkelpop festival. When the project ended he went on solo as Primate, promoting a more varied sound while exploring the deeper sound of dubstep. This resulted in LOOP, one of Belgium's first and biggest dubstep events. At the same time Wasp also promoted the legendary Therapy Sessions in Belgium. Both events permanently left their mark on the Belgian drum & bass and dubstep scene.

Dj Wasp's online mixes and radio shows gave him fame beyond international borders and to this day still circulate on the web. He played at festivals like Let It Roll, Tomorrowland, Rampage, Laundry Day, Pukkelpop and many more in his home country as well as in the UK, Holland, Germany, Spain, France, Israel, Poland, Canada, the US, Romania, Denmark and the Czech Republic.

His mixing style is a seamless blend of multiple genres and subgenres. Fast multi layered mixes that could go on until the early hours, impressing both public and fellow dj's alike.

Today Wasp mostly works in the shadows of the scene, but every time he enters the public realm again, he reminds the jungle of who the lion really is.
