Dj Reaganomics began music selecting in the early eighties by making mix-tapes, using recorded songs off of Detroit radio programs. Using the pause button, a song could be stopped on the beat in mid recording and then resumed on the beat of a new song, sometimes over the course of days, and spanning many radio programs. These "pause-tapes" covered the territory between pop electronica and rap: Prince, Zapp, Cybertron, Egyptian Lover, Rockmaster Scott & the Dynamic Three. The technique was perfected and the tapes were given to friends.
Thirty years later, he's still at it. Only instead of a just a handful of kids in Ann Arbor Mi, Thousands of people, worldwide have heard and downloaded his mixes, re-mixes and original tracks. People in Japan, Czeck Republic, and Colombia, have Seen him Dj live, as well as audiences in NYC for the last fifteen years.
