He is based in: Montreal, Quebec, Canada Links: Interchill Records: http://www.interchill.com/artists Mixcloud: mixcloud.com/DJ_Neerav/ Bio: With over 25 years of experience in the global music movement, DJ Neerav is also one of the founding fathers of Montreal’s electronica scene, having come up with the likes of Tiga, Misstress Barbara and DJ Champion. His first DJ set was in Koh Phangan, Thailand in ’89; later, a visit to Goa and India saw him quickly falling in love with the sound of Trance. His love and passion for music have taken him all over the globe in search of the perfect groove, and he’s headlined main and ambient stages at major festivals the world over (including Shambhala, Earth Dance in California, Samothraki in Greece and Universo Paralello in Brazil). He is widely acknowledged as one of the first Psy Trance DJs in Quebec, and one of the driving forces in the original psychedelic trance movement here. Label rep and resident DJ for Interchill Records, he’s also released two ambient cd compilations for the label. For the last several years he’s been a facilitator and DJ for ecstatic dance and yoga based events in Montreal. He also works with musicians on live fusion projects and has been producing music since 2013. His musical selection features bass flavoured electronica fused with world beat and authentic tribal grooves, native american drums and chants, polyrhythms, as well as Indo vibes. Featuring the use of traditional instruments such as the kalimba and didgeridoo, and newer ones such as the ‘hang drum’, these are songs to heal your spirit through dance. Whether spinning at a yoga trance party, ecstatic dance gathering, festival, or his own club nights, Neerav enjoys offering a journey on the dance-floor spinning waves of delicious tribal and ethno-groove sounds for you, your friends and fellow tribe members to connect with!
