DeeJay, music composer, arranger and producer…Eric Kaufmann is the famous DJ of Parisian nights, well-known for his festive and trendy DJ sets, a unique mix of House, Disco, Funk and Soul music.
A story that started very early
Very young, at the Montreux Festival, he has the opportunity to meet great artists such as Ray Charles, Earth Wind & Fire, Tito Puente or Carlos Santana… Artists who make him furiously eager to play in Clubs the music he is enjoying in concerts.
At the age of 14, he composes his first music pieces, and only a few years later, he starts to teach famous DJ or producers such as Claude Monet or Antoine Clamaran, musical production techniques.
With an innate talent for rhythms and harmony, Eric rapidly becomes excellent at mixing all kinds of music. Eric quickly becomes well-known in Swiss Clubs for the quality of his sets.
Success becomes a reality
In 1988, at the Midnight Express in Paris, Eric is one of the first DJ mixing in live various House and Disco sounds using vinyls and electronic instruments (samplers, “beater”, keyboards…). His technique is unique, innovative and surprising. In 1999, he attracts attention during a Parisian night in the famous Club “The Queen” in Paris. For almost 10 years, he becomes the “resident” of “the Queen”, and runs the “Disco Inferno” and the "Disco Queen" nights, building-up their success and reputation into what have now become the famous “Disco Queen” nights. Success becomes a reality and Eric writes his first “Disco Queen” compilation in 2003 under EMI Virgin Indépendance Records. From then on, Eric’s career is a string of successes and he is approached by the best French Clubs such as the “Palace” (Paris), The "Queen Club" Paris, the “Papagayo” (St Tropez), the “César Palace” (Lyon),…
Composer and arranger
As a talented and successful DJ, Eric Kaufmann is rapidly sought-after for its skills as a Director: he starts re-mixing for the DMC and Prélude label (D Train, France Joli, New Jersey Connection, Prélude Mégamix...), he progressively gets to works with a number of famous artists such as Antoine Clamaran, Eric Candy, Laurent Garnier, Claude Monnet, Raymond Cazaux, Pierre Zito, Carol Fredericks...
In 2002 he composes Jet : 2 Dope'n'dash; My Girlfriend is a robot (Basic Traxx), which are now in the play-list of the most famous DJ in the world: Erick Morillo, Danny Tennaglia, Robbie Rivera, Steve Lawler…
In 2008 he composes the soundtrack if the movie DISCO and the remix of “September” for
Christophe Willem. In 2011 he signs a remix of Stick Shift with Antoine Clamaran- Child Mix...
Eric Kaufmann has also been working with FG Radio in France and Belgium for 10 years: he signs his own productions such as: remix « Happy Days » (Clap Production), Gloria Gaynor « I Will Survive » (Jeck Prod), Sylvester « You Make Me Feel » (Jeck Prod).
