QUINtic Calabi, the assumed name of Quin Parker, is a DJ, producer, and artist who blends an eclectic mix of electronic music genres including but not limited to; dubstep, drum step, glitch, hip hop, and trap. He is based in Denver, Colorado with his friend Chris Luera who have collaborated under the name Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant.
Parker's stage name QUINtic Calabi comes from the 5 dimensional figure, the calabi yau manifold, alluring his listeners to free their minds and lose themselves in his music. It is the sense of losing the world around you and being brought back by a sick drop that the whole crowd feels together that brought Parker to electronic dance music. QUINtic Calabi's inpsiration is derived from the desire to inspire others the way other artists have inspired him.
Parker began his interest in music and performance at 13 years old when he got his first drum set. His early influences varied from 70's and 80's classic rock to more modern metal and metalcore. This transformed into his current style of percussion influenced mixing techniques and his intuitive ear for changing bass lines and broken beat music. He'll beat your girl with his drum, because, as we all know...the bass makes that bitch cum.
QUINtic Calabi became interested in mixing after seeing his first electronic show of 2Fresh, 12th Planet, and Skrillex in November of 2011. After which he began mixing music on tractor pro and Numark Mixtrack Pros and producing using Reason 4 and Ableton. His musical influences span from August Burns Red to Ray Charles but his biggest electronic inspirations include but are not limited to Figure, Savant, Bro Safari, Dcarls, Terravita, Zomboy, Zardonic, Griz, and Grimatik.
Parker's execution is most notable as his energy radiates from every pore evoking the same brilliant energy in his audience. He has mastered the physical dexterity of each limb interdependently and simultaneously, creating an unforgettable live performance.
