James Petford, Better known as DJ Superstitious, Has played at various clubs including the Steering wheel for S.L.A.G. The crusader bar when West end bar closed down and he was also resident at Subway City for both Trapdoor and Blue, playing classic house and old skool.
He is currently resident at Tin Tins in Birmingham.
He started playing in 1996 after listening to the Ministry of sounds annual 96 Pete Tong's disk. Regularly going to local clubs in the city centre and getting to know producers and Dj's of all different walks of music, this helped him establish what music he liked and decided to try and put his hand to everything he could get them on.
He used to work at the steering wheel in Birmingham from 97 / 98 & would go to S.L.A.G. Freedom, Fun, Crunch, Wobble, West End Bar, Genesis, The Hush, Tin Tins, Sunddissential and Amen. Learning how to blend different types of music together in a seamless mix. Knowing all these energetic differences within each genre and learning how to put them all together to make sub genres on the fly has helped develop a very good understanding of how to produce and it quickly became a hobby making bootlegs. Studying how different dj's would mix whilst he was out he became accustomed to knowing his way around the mixer and turntables and how to control all the different ways there are of mixing, it wasn't until James watched how Tony De Vit mixed that he understood the difference of professional and amateur, by learning not to use anything but the pitch control to mix he knew that he had mastered it to a fine art
His love for trance music came about when he stumbled across Godskitchen and Polysexual, he had now become accustomed to a type of music and it found it's place in his heart and mind, so from that day on he knew what he desired the most.
Having guest mixes of people such as Colin Frensham or Col the medic as people would have known him as.
They both plan to start show with another internet station called di.fm, Darren had been doing a monthly residency on there playing his hardstyle and hosting guest mixes by well named producers such as RUSHGBH,Sam Punk, DJ Yoz, Vortex, Showtek, Dutch Master, Audio Damage,DJ Thera, Bruno Power & Wasted Penguinz
They have both decided to concentrate on trance and becoming recognised within the trance industry and becoming established in something that they can both actively enjoy together working as a team on both productions and DJ'ing together.
They have set up a record label called Lunar Recordings and will be releasing tracks by themselves and other trance artist's, their own productions will see them working with singers concentrating on a new type of trance where they use their lifelong skills to put in to limelight only something that was once a dream.
