Rain In The Mountains by Diederik de Jonge by Diederik de Jonge published on 2012-02-02T04:11:35Z This piece is one of a series of semi-improv pieces that I have made using gamelan. In this piece, each instrument uses the same five tone scale (at different octaves). I first play an improv on one of the instruments and then improv each additional instrument on top of that until I think it sounds right. A bit of tweaking follows to remove any harsh notes or bits that don't sound right and that's it. Previously, I used these types of pieces as the basis of other works, but I liked this one as is and so I thought I would share it. Thanks for listening and as always, any comments are appreciated. And yes, these are sampled instruments :) Artwork link: http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=mountain%20rain&order=9&offset=72#/d4d0wvk Genre Gamelan Experimental Comment by Diederik de Jonge @dj-walguz: Gracias :) 2012-05-25T01:42:06Z Comment by Diederik de Jonge @darrenbartlett: Thank you very much :) 2012-05-25T01:41:47Z Comment by Diederik de Jonge @darrenbartlett: Thanks.
