Far From Here by Diederik de Jonge by Diederik de Jonge published on 2011-09-12T07:31:57Z I must be in this kind of mood lately. A rock ballad inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin and other rock bands of the era. Comments welcome :) Re-uploaded 14/09/11 with some changes to the mix. A much better version I think :) Genre Instrumental Rock Ballad Comment by gracelette the guitars are brilliant!! <33 2011-10-24T12:12:55Z Comment by sidetrack marvelous man. now find the robert plant of 2011 and ready to go:) excellent piece. 2011-10-23T11:19:41Z Comment by LarsLooperMan I am hopeful that this journey is just a beginning and that there is more to come. :-) 2011-10-23T10:57:11Z Comment by Jasmine Bee very very nice - such an interesting dynamic x 2011-10-23T10:20:46Z Comment by Lee >>> Lucas Stunning arrangement of Zepps classic Stairway to Heaven, my god you have wonderful imagination. The levelling works much better now when you have the percussion in, the other elements start to blend in together and all are integrated nicely by the deeper bass. The The change in percussion really works well in the middle more dynamic section, before the break. You can hear the strings far better now, and all the other elements are far clearer. Each instrument/sound occupying it's own space, but all are nicely integrated to make a unified organic sound overall. A MUCH better, cleaner mix that does the greatness of this track justice. Splendid work Diederik. 2011-09-14T15:53:11Z Comment by Project-mdp Great guitar-work! Like you rock-ballad! Good job mate! Cheers Ralf 2011-09-14T12:59:01Z Comment by Donald Gisbey TYou`ve really brought this to life. Digital production is such hard work, but you take inert binary and make it breathe. Hats off to you! 2011-09-14T12:49:01Z Comment by jet koton nice one 2011-09-14T11:30:31Z Comment by Oliver Sadie I love this one, really warm and enjoyable ballad. 2011-09-14T09:48:51Z Comment by Oliver Sadie Beautiful man! 2011-09-14T09:47:14Z Comment by Delirata 1983 Nice song man ! 2011-09-13T18:05:57Z Comment by GORDiN BONES theres an excellent mix of influences and genres in your music! 2011-09-13T11:11:03Z Comment by Broken Mole Great composition Diederick, but I really love this part here. Glad you liked it :) 2011-09-13T01:25:42Z Comment by Inaiya This is a fantastic arrangement, with some stunning unforgettable melodies. It's a track full of soul and passion and I've just listened to it at least 3 times just typing my comments. My only issue is the levelling of the mix: acoustic guitar is a little too forward in the mix when the bass kicks in, and I feel the bass really needs to be more of a warmer, deeper and rounder sound, than the one here, as at times it gets washed out. This would make the acoustic guitar, lead melody and other elements more of a contrasting sound to make it a little more interesting, and also it would help to gel all the individual parts better together, thereby, integrating the the whole piece much more. Despite that though, this is a stupendous bit of song-writing featuring some of the most memorable melodies I have head for some time. Kudos to you sir! 2011-09-12T20:01:38Z
