Slowbient by DfC published on 2013/03/08 01:49:39 +0000 Got a couple of issues with this song (oh wait, you mean like every other song? Yeah, I do actually). For one, its got TWELVE tracks. TWELVE. That seems to in inordinately high number, and there appear to be several duplicates, so that's worth something. More concerning than the number 12 are the names of four of them in particular: OG1, OG2, 2bit and 4 bit. I don't know why there is a space between 4 and bit and not between 2 and bit. I also don't know what OG stands for and why there are two of them. First thought was 'original gangsta' but then I remembered I was a suburban white kid, so that's probably not it. Could just stand for original, but then, like, its all original samples. So fuck you, that's what. Anyway, it's all sampled from another track (turns out its Eschereal), barring the bass (which is an Operator synth, like _all_ my synths). Turns out you can make nifty string/organ/(and I found out today, trumpet) sounds using just Operator, which would be super cool if I knew how to go about that and didn't end up at it monkey-typewriter-Shakespeare style. Of concern, also, for some reason everything that I output (compose? write?) is a melancholy, one-hit-from-Eiffel-65-esque composition. I just want sparkles, dammit, and club smashes, and lots of lights and glowsticks and lasers BUT ITS ALL FOG AND AUTUMN WINDS AND OVERCAST DAYS. (Blue. Their one hit was blue. Substitute the word Blue for everything prior to -esque) Vote for me at this year's Oscars, I'm gonna win an Academy Award.
