The story of DEE-TREE-9 starts with the first warehouse parties in the late 80s: in the beginning, there was dancing. As the Berlin wall fell, and the Secret files affair aroused minds in Switzerland, the bass drum exploded at places like the Dampfzentrale. It spawned who he was bound to be. Philipp Frei became a DJ himself and began to organize acid and techno parties in Bern. DEE-TREE-9 gigs together with the Detroit techno avantguarde: with Derrick May, Robert Hood, Jeff Mills or Richie Hawtin. He releases his tracks on labels like the internationally reknowned Axodya imprint, as well as on Sirion Records or his own label Tronix Records.
